Point of View: 2025 Year in Review at Leaf & Limb
Looking back at the last year through candid photos captured by our crew.
It was a busy and exciting year at Leaf & Limb! Here's a look back at some of our favorite moments behind the scenes.
Started the Year on a High Note
Winter meant lots of planting and lots of structural pruning.
Snow Day
We didn't get many winter storms last year, but when they happened, the city was blanketed with a calm stillness.
Icy Prairies
And the winter weather made our prairies sparkle.
We Seek & Share Knowledge
Basil presented at countless events last year including the 2025 SAR (South Atlantic Region) Garden Club Conference.
Help from Friends
Geoff helped a few turtles across the road and we all took time to care for creatures, big and small.
Andrea to the Rescue
In fact, Andrea rescued so many cats this year that when you Google raleigh cat tree rescue, call Leaf & Limb is the first response.
Sunny Blooms
Several of our Piedmont Prairies reached their third growing season and were bursting with life!
Razzle Dazzle
Safety gear isn't just for keeping our crew safe. A little sparkle goes a long way to adding joy to our everyday lives.
Eye Spy
A newly hatched anole takes in the view from a bright summer bloom.
Project Pando
EB spent many days in the grove explaining how to process seeds, how air pruning boxes work, and how to separate saplings after they have germinated.
Good Company
Crew members took a quick lunch break to review plans. Planning and preparation ensure we meet quality standards every time.
Furry Friends
Workdays are better when we get to meet our clients (including the four-legged ones). Sometimes they have larger-than-life personalities.
Supersize
And sometimes they are just larger than life!
Out With the Old, In With the New
Passing the torch between team captains.
Take Your Kids to Work Day
Luke's kids were all smiles when they visited the shop this summer. We're not sure if that's because they got to see how their dad is the world's best mechanic or because they found the slushy machine... (we're pretty sure it's the first one).
Up in the Canopy
Beautiful blue skies + getting to spend the day way up in a canopy = joy.
Going Above and Beyond
We collaborated with Duke SAF students to collect seeds for Project Pando. Their creative teamwork was impressive.
Saplings Have Superpowers
Andrea standing next to a Project Pando Sapling that was planted in a community garden only two years ago!
Tree Inspection
And another Project Pando sapling is being inspected by one of our supervisors. It passed the test with flying colors.
We <3 Spiders
But we're not sure about this one. Something looks different.
Fall from Above
Autumn is one of our favorite times of year and we are lucky to get to see all of the colors from way up high.
It's in the Details
We also get to see the smallest signs of change from the ground. Fall is also when we collect a majority of the seeds for Project Pando.
Winner, Winner
The winner of the ISA 2025 North American Tree Climbing Championship received a copy of From Wasteland to Wonder.
We Love You, Too
Trees sometimes hide love notes in their branches.
Happy Climbing
Who says you can't have fun while also being safe?
Forest Floor
Proof that there’s always more happening just below the surface.
We Do the Right Thing
We make sure everyone is safe and cared for, so our ecosystem stays healthy and happy.
The OGs
Colin and Juan take a well-deserved moment in the sun.
Holiday Cheer
We ended the year on a high note with our holiday party. Family Feud got heated but our hosts were fair and tough!
An Epic Year
All in all, 2025 was one of our best years yet. We can't wait to see what 2026 has in store.
